Favorite Skin Care Brands for My Face

I thought I would share my favorite facial skin care (FSC) brands. Over the years I have tried all types of FSC brands including drugstore products (such as Noxema, Oil of Olay,  Aveeno), network marketing products (Avon and Mary Kay), department store products (Clinique and Lancome), and I am sure others I forgot by now. As I phased out parabens (chemicals used in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products as a preservative), most synthetic ingredients, and most synthetic fragrances, I also tried all types of "all natural" and "organic" care products (Alba, Nature's Gate, Desert Organics, pure Jojoba Oil, etc). I have very sensitive, reactive, moody skin. If I am stressed and worn down, my skin is so reactive that simply applying 100% pure Alo Vera makes my skin super red and blotchy. On top of the sensitive skin, I am a practical girl. I do not want to stand in front of the mirror for an hour every day (which probably does not do me any favors when it comes to FSC or the aging process).

Since our epidermis (or our skin) is our largest organ and our main source of protection, I believe that what we expose our skin to is almost as important as what we put into our bodies. Our skin also absorbs everything we lather on it. I am always in search of FSC products that will help protect, restore, and delay wrinkles, yet do not contain parabens, phosphates, synthetic dyes or fragrances, or any known carcinogens (see Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep Cosmetics Database for more info). So, I wanted to share my favorites so far in my journey through FSC regimes:

Update:
I was recently at Super Supplements inspecting facial products. While talking to a rep for some of the above brands, she reports that each brand's "purity" is also based off of what region the ingredients are harvested from and which location the products are manufactured at. Relying solely on the brand is not always as reliable as inspecting the ingredients and searching out their sources (which can be tedious!)
