From Burned Out to Revived

​Have you ever needed a break?

A chance to breath in life again? To see hope? To dream again?

2 years ago, after 8 years of bedside nursing, a loss of a parent, and a lifetime of living in a performance based mindset, I decided to say “ENOUGH” and start my own small business as a Health and Wellness Coach. I was exhausted and fighting the slide of cynicism into jaded emptiness. I knew the only way I was going to heal was from the inside out!

My dream of becoming a Health and Wellness Coach began 2 years into my nursing career for me when I realized that our medical system is really broken. Most people do not want healing, they want bandaids. They want a hero to swoop in and save them. The pressure to be everything to everyone in the system was mounting daily on my already tender heart. The career I hoped to make an impact with was crushing me and killing me slowly from the outside in.

Instead of including preventative measures such as emotional healing, proper nutritional principles, and activity, most people were primarily choosing medications, unhealthy coping mechanisms, and placing blame on others to stay afloat in their daily lives. As I started looking for solutions for my own emotional and physical challenges, I realized what we need to do as a society, is take our power back, one decision, one healed heart, and one nourished body at a time.

One of the most important personal breakthroughs I have experienced in my own health came when I discovered how to cultivate deep gratitude in my daily life. I found gratitude to be like worship! It has been the key to renewing my mind and allowing me to manage my all of my emotions in a healthy way. As I continue to to incoporate and apply balanced nutrition princples, I also prioritize my focus on practicing gratitude in every possible moment to bring my physical body into alignment with the healing that was happening in my heart and mind.

Health is multidimensional. No medication or procedure will cure a hurt heart and a stuck mind. I experienced this first hand. After a long history of trying to fix my own hurt heart and physical exhaustion, I have learned all the things we do to make ourselves “healthy” are only fully successful when we combine all of our dimensions: mind, body, heart, and soul. Whole healing happens from the inside out.

The healing process takes un-programing all of the things we have learned from the conventional religion, health, wellness, and food industry. It means engaging in more than the “follow these guidelines and rules.” Being in process means taking a look at all of the habits, paradigms, and relationships in our lives (including the ones with ourselves), and kicking the ones that no longer serve us to the curb, while adopting new ones that will keep us empowered to stay healthy and healed for life!
